The attacker has scored five strikes in 10 Spanish league matches so far this term.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his response when substituted in the recent intense El Clasico win.

Vinicius was taken off in the second half and showed his disappointment by heading directly down the tunnel.

Vinicius later returned to the sidelines and, following his side's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barça's youngster Yamal during contentious after the game scenes.

"Today I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was taken off in the big match," the player posted on X.

"Similarly to I have said in person during the latest session, I also want to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the team, and the leadership.

"At times passion takes over me because I constantly desire to win and help my club. My determined nature comes from the affection I have for this institution and all it symbolizes."

Vinicius signed for Madrid from Brazil in recent years for millions and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his prospects in the Spanish capital is uncertain with reports in recent months suggesting that the club would contemplate letting the player leave if they obtained a suitable offer.

When he was replaced on Sunday, TV coverage from coverage provider Dazn picked him up remarking: "Again me! I'm exiting the club! It's preferable if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his new message on social media, he said: "I vow to keep fighting at all times for the good of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the initial arrival."
