The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Immediate Additions
The two games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
