Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter flying near a well-attended southern California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers observed.
Footage shared online capture the aircraft starting to spin above Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
