British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
