Arise, Sir David Beckham: Beckham Knighted by the Monarch at Royal Windsor Ceremony
David Beckham was bestowed with a honorary title at the historic royal residence on Tuesday. The ex-national team leader, fifty, was among those accepting honours for his services to athletics and charity. In recent months, he expressed he was “immensely proud” of being acknowledged in the King’s birthday honours.
Football Career Highlights
Beckham made his Premier League debut for Manchester United in 1995 and was a key member that secured a thrilling Champions League final victory in 1999 when they beat Bayern Munich with two late goals.
Overall, he netted eighty-five scores and collected honours including six Premier League titles and domestic cup wins as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in 2013. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has backed a number of charity causes, including acting as a charitable representative for humanitarian aid organisation Unicef since 2005.

Philanthropy and Beyond
Last year, the sports star, who has described himself as a “devoted monarchist”, was appointed an official representative for the royal educational charity, an educational charity founded by the monarch in 1990. In 1998 he was declared most stylish man of the year by a leading publication and he has posed for brands like H&M, Armani, and the luxury label.
Beckham married his wife Victoria in 1999 and the pair have a family of four kids together – Brooklyn, Romeo, the third child, and Harper.
